Truly cannot recommend WSKU Dojos more highly to anyone seeking to learn traditional Karate. Both supportive and always challenging, I feel very lucky to have found this fantastic place to train. Each of the Senseis are calm, patient and accomplished, providing high quality standards of training and constantly helping us to improve our practice individually. Suitable for all abilities.

I have no doubt that this is the best Shotokan karate training you will receive in this country. I have nothing but positive things to say. I trained with Sensei Chico for a few years and achieved my 2nd Dan. The knowledge, expertise and passion in this Dojo is like none I’ve ever known. If you’re thinking about it, go. You will be welcomed with open arms.

Great, friendly club. Very knowledgeable and encouraging instructors with decades of experience (Sensei Chico Mbakwe with Senseis Darren Taylor and Lynton Black teaching Mondays and Wednesdays, Sensei Stuart Hockey and Sensei Phil Hiatt on Sundays). Good for young and old, beginners and seasoned martial artists.

I trained with WSKU over the summer, whilst my regular club was closed, and it was a fantastic experience. Everyone made me feel very welcome and Chico and his fellow instructors are all incredibly knowledgeable and so passionate about Karate. I can't recommend the dojo enough and look forward to training with them again as soon as I can.

Over the years I have attended four different Dojos. I've now been with Chico for over ten years and have achieved my 3rd Dan. The senior black belts are amazing and so helpful to all members. It has become an important part of my life.
